I use Uber quite often. It\u2019s awesome for riders. It\u2019s terrible for drivers.<\/p>\n
When I say it\u2019s awesome it\u2019s a bit more than that, it\u2019s life-changing. Ordering transportation in a couple clicks, wait 5 minutes max and pay three times less than a cab is disrupting as fuck.<\/p>\n
The problem is drivers make less and less because there\u2019s more and more of them, Uber adds fees and more importantly doesn\u2019t offer anything to their contractors: drivers have to pay everything for their cars.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s horrible because I can\u2019t afford cabs \u2013and their service sucks- and drivers can\u2019t let the opportunity of making some bucks driving around LA for a couple hours go away.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s how Tech caters to the masses, which are cheap \u2013we all are-, disconnect itself from any accountability \u2013drivers are contractors- while Uber can experiment with hundreds of millions of dollars of investment. We\u2019re like rats in a lab and it\u2019s so obnoxious.<\/p>\n
