{"id":4567,"date":"2023-04-23T21:31:07","date_gmt":"2023-04-23T21:31:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/har0ld.com\/playground\/?p=4567"},"modified":"2023-04-23T21:31:07","modified_gmt":"2023-04-23T21:31:07","slug":"engineering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/har0ld.com\/playground\/2023\/04\/engineering\/","title":{"rendered":"Engineering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few things from my ongoing study for my future house:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to 900mm outer walls for thermal inertia.<\/li>\n<li>400mm green roof for the same reason.<\/li>\n<li>Walls built on site with 3D printer.<\/li>\n<li>Roof built off site with 3D printer.<\/li>\n<li>Honeycomb structure for the roof, with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Basalt_fiber\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">basalt fiber<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rebar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rebar<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Basalt is a natural material, thus better for the earth than steel (and also doesn\u2019t have issues of heat transfer or corrosion that steel has). It is also cheaper than carbon fiber, while being easier to recycle as well.<\/p>\n<p>Honeycomb structure is amazing because it\u2019s really good at sustaining shear strength while using the least amount of material, reducing costs.
