{"id":4762,"date":"2023-12-11T04:43:30","date_gmt":"2023-12-11T04:43:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/har0ld.com\/playground\/?p=4762"},"modified":"2023-12-11T04:43:30","modified_gmt":"2023-12-11T04:43:30","slug":"wondering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/har0ld.com\/playground\/2023\/12\/wondering\/","title":{"rendered":"Wondering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m writing about entertainment\u2019s golden ages because with AI now and the heavy <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/A\/B_testing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A\/B test<\/a>-based decisions (not the brightest by the way) of the past ten years, I feel like there\u2019s a sense of everything being derived from something done before, at a high rate. It didn\u2019t used to be like that.<\/p>\n<p>My best example of this is floating worlds. Jesus Christ. It\u2019s the de-facto template these days for \u201cedgy\u201d worlds but although it\u2019s an old trope, it used to be rare! Now it\u2019s like <em>everything<\/em> uses that setting. Which used to be awesome (the end of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Castle_in_the_Sky\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laputa<\/a>, ugh) but isn\u2019t anymore.<\/p>\n<p>What I mean is that over-optimization of entertainment leads to an increase of sameness. Which seems to be very addictive? What kind of impact does it have on people growing up on this?
