The issue is that it complicates construction massively and can become a source of future problems like a leak or corrosion and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Thermal_bridge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thermal bridges<\/a> and what not.<\/p>\n<p>Concrete has poor thermal performance, but this can be alleviated with insulating aggregates like <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Perlite\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">perlite<\/a> which is 100% natural and non-toxic.<\/p>\n<p>Also read recently:<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/har0ld.com\/see\/uploads\/big\/3acf144f81752484fd9b8bfa18dbc489.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>My weak calculations and guts were right, at 600mm\/24\u201d thick with insulation, I would achieve the 0.1 W\/m\u00b2K needed to have the optimal <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Thermal_transmittance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thermal performance<\/a>. Why the obsession? My brother, it\u2019s only going to get hotter.<\/p>\n<p>So, one material that is self-sufficient in every single way. I don\u2019t even need to paint it or plaster it, as concrete needs to be raw to the outside and inside to work properly in this case.<\/p>\n<p>Which means either 3D-printed or precast elements, a crane, and in two days, <a href=\"http:\/\/har0ld.com\/playground\/2025\/02\/living-together-alone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this thing<\/a> is 90% done.<\/p>\n<p>*drops mic*<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m into insulating aggregates.
