Etude de marché, plutôt précise (11 000 personnes interrogées). Résultats:<\/p>\n

  • Avid PC Gamers: 33%<\/strong>. 13.6 hours a week mostly on computers, and buy 1.4 titles a quarter.\n

  • Secondary Gamers: 22%.<\/strong> 6.8 hours a week, again mostly on computers, and buy 0.8 titles a quarter. Only a third of this group owns a PS2.\n

     <\/li>\n

  • Avid Console Gamers: 20%.<\/strong> 10.7 hours a week, and they own 1.6 consoles and 0.8 portable platforms. 1.9 titles a quarter.\n

     <\/li>\n

  • Mass Market Gamers: 15%.<\/strong> 8.9 hours a week, mostly on PS2 and PC. They own 1.8 consoles — more<\/em> than avid console gamers, probably because they don’t sell their old consoles for store credit. \":P\"\n

  • Casual Kid Gamers: no % given, I deduce 8%.<\/strong> Kids 6-12, owning 1 console and 0.5 portables (which doesn’t match the kids I<\/em> know, all <\/em>of whom have Gameboys of some stripe). Just 3.6 hours a week of playtime, probably because of pesky parents. 0.8 games per quarter.\n

  • Heavy Gamers: 2%.<\/strong> 39.3 hours a week, mostly on 360 and Wii. Own 2.8 consoles and 1.9 portables. And they buy 13.1 games a quarter, or around 4.5 a month.\n

    Donc oui, le gros du marché du jeu se passe sur Personal Computer<\/strong>. Et oui, l’industrie sue sang et eau pour ces pauvres 2% de HDC gamers<\/strong>, en baisse par rapport à l’année dernière<\/a> (ils étaient 3% et vu ce qu’ils crachent, -1% c’est beaucoup).<\/p>\n

    Que ça plaise ou non, la réalité est là. Il est amusant de noter qu’il n’y a aucun site parlant du jeu représentant la démographie décrite ci-dessus. Ils suivent le gros de l’industrie les yeux fermés (MGS4 E3 2K7 OMFGBBQ!!§§) et ne se posent pas plus de questions que de savoir s’ils auront le mot de passe pour la wicked<\/em> soirée du jour. <\/p>\n
