Slapbak strikes back

Il sort prochainement et un medley est dispo sur leur site. Je suis dingue de ce groupe.

Slapbak was founded in 1990 by Jara Harris. The band would include original members, TJ Quake on rap/vocals and Krank on keyboards. After playing the LA circuit for only a year, the band landed their first record deal with Warner Brothers. While doing pre-production on their cd, they stirred up interests from funk greats such as Cameo, George Clinton and Bootsy Collins, whom all ended participating on production of their debut album, "Fast Food Funkateers". This album was released in 1993 and their single "True Confessions" received them nationwide radio and video play while the album acquired international recognition. During the duration of this album, Slapbak toured with George Clinton & the P-Funk All-Stars, Roger and Zapp, Arrested Development and SWV to name a few. In 1996, Slapbak came back with their follow-up release after leaving their second cd "Blue Light Special" with Warner Brothers. This album brought back the funk with a mixture of hip hop and urban sounds. The video for their single "Sway," was aired
and put on rotation on B.E.T. before Slapbak had their next deal with Raging Bull Records. Their single "We Come To Jam" made it to the top 100 urban charts and Sway was
used in a movie called "Navajo Blues." Slapbak did some tour dates with 2 Live Crew, Digital Underground and headlined many San Diego outdoor events like the Street Scene.
