250 years. The greatest American gift to this planet is Black American music.
Thanks to it we are able to survive, thrive, heal, pause, feel good.
Thanks to it, we are able to take on an unfathomable amount of shit. Maybe I shouldn’t thank it that much.
It is very much American. And Black. An exquisite, unique and infinite blend of cultures.
It is the main seed to all things music today. There is no techno, Beatles, K and Jpop, rock, punk or reggae without Black American music.
It transcends everything. It locked itself in every cell of global society.
What “universal” things do we use? Air. Water. Coffee. Tea. Bread? Computers. And Black American music (or its kids).
